A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Probably one of the most misunderstood and controversial amendments of the US Constitution, the Second Amendment has been under attack since its very inception by those who would limit its rights because of their own personal biases, and/or that of institutional expediency under the guise of Public Safety!
One of the most glaring affronts to the rights of the Second Amendment is the idea that it comes with limitations, when in fact it has no limitations on it, NONE! Even the Founding Fathers writings on this issue plainly spelled out that it was not the government's duty, right, or responsibility, to limit any portion of the US Constitution, especially the First and Second Amendments!
Yet we have local, state, and federal authorities and legislators doing everything in their power to limit the citizens' ability to exercise their rights under the Second Amendment and until recently the Supreme Court has abrogated its responsibility in enforcing the exact tenants of the US Constitution, especially the Second Amendment!
Probably the most glaring clause and which causes much consternation among those in political power who would seek to keep their power by any means necessary, no matter how illegal or fraudulent, refuse to recognize the very first clause in the 2nd Amendment being. "A well regulated militia", which is not the National Guard or any Armed Force of the US government! A citizens' militia is a private-armed force put in place to maintain the second part of that clause, which is, "being necessary to the security of a FREE State"! Which means living in a "state of freedom" not within any political entity or within a political boundary, it literally means being in a "state of freedom", but many people misunderstand this, and they need to be admonished and corrected whenever that erroneous mindset rears its ugly head!
The third part of the Second Amendment is the one which has now been verified by the Supreme Court in the recent Bruen decision, "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms"! Notice that there are two very important words in this clause, that of "keep" which means to have hold or possess and "bear", which means to carry on your person at all times, anywhere, any place, no restrictions! Yet the present Communist Progressive Liberal Criminals (aka Democrats) would have us believe that that is not true, but the Founders plainly spell this out again in all their writings! In fact, after the US Constitution was written, John Adams was asked if we could have a canon? His response was, "of course you can" and what many people refuse to acknowledge, is that many private citizens and entities had their own armed ships with cannons to protect themselves from piracy! Nowadays, we must be fully armed to protect ourselves from the piracy of the same criminals and many government agencies acting like criminals, (See ATF, IRS, EPA, FBI, etc.) Also take note that the word Arms is capitalized, this is to infer that this means any type of arms whether it be firearms a knife a handgun or any sort of weapon that can be used for either offense against a potential perpetrator or protection from a criminal or tyrannical force, there is no distinction on what type of arms are to be allowed! The current complete nonsense about "weapons of war" is just that complete and utter nonsense as it was "weapons of war" that brought this country to its independence, just because those weapons have changed over the years does not abrogate the ability of a citizen to have any weapon they choose to maintain a free state or a state of freedom from criminality and government tyranny!
The fourth part of the Second Amendment states clearly and plainly, "shall not be infringed"! The founders made special pains to make sure that the US Constitution was written in plain simple language that anyone could understand without any lawyerly or scholarly interpretation to get a plain and simple meaning yet the Communist Progressive Liberal Criminals currently trying to overthrow parts of the US Constitution including particularly the Second Amendment, try to infer and inject meanings and principles which have no bearing on the plain and simple language!
